Mission Checklist

Privacy note: this checklist never asks for patient names, birth dates, record numbers, or test details. Do not write them on it. Follow the client's own rules for handling protected health information.

Before you accept the route

• Pickup and delivery addresses, time windows, and contact names confirmed with dispatch
• Total miles counted, including the drive to pickup and the drive back
• Expected waiting time asked and written down
• Pay, payment date, and any waiting-time or cancellation policy confirmed in writing
• Required items known: cooler, ice packs, spill kit, badge, gloves, scanner app
• Vehicle checked: fuel or charge, tires, lights, clean cargo area

At pickup

• Arrived inside the time window; checked in as the site requires
• Package count matches the manifest or app
• Labels and markings present (for example a UN3373 mark on Category B packages, when used)
• No visible leaks, damage, or open seals; problems reported before leaving
• Temperature requirement noted (ambient, refrigerated, frozen) and the right container used
• Chain-of-custody step done: scan, signature, or handoff log as required by the client

During transport

• Packages secured upright, away from the passenger area, and out of direct sun
• Temperature kept as required; no unplanned stops with packages left unattended
• Vehicle locked whenever you step away
• Delays reported to dispatch as soon as they happen

At delivery

• Delivered to the right department or person named by the client
• Package count checked with the receiver
• Proof of delivery completed: scan, signature, name, time, and photo if the client allows it
• Any exception (damage, refusal, wrong address) reported and documented

After the route

• Miles, tolls, parking, and waiting time logged for your records
• Cooler and cargo area cleaned and restocked
• Pay and any waiting-time charges checked against what was agreed
